      During my time at university I have been elected as the chairperson for my hall of residence, I am responsible for a committee of 17 other members, a hall of 483 students and all previous students within Telford hall that have now moved out and even graduated, accumulating into the thousands. This role has given me a great opportunity to grow and improve my own abilities in many different areas.Leadership - I have to ensure my committee is performing to the best of their ability, the committee varies vastly in what each position is tasked to, from sports, to volunteering and charity, to campus security. So I need to have a vast knowledge of each area and how best to make certain each member is reaching their full potential.Sales and marketing - Having organised many events for the hall it is important to ensure that the hall is interested and attends these. I have successfully organised and marketed a large variety of events from hall balls with over 300 members in attendance, to charity events across the country to raise money for a great number of deserving causes.Negotiation - Organising these events involved negotiating prices so that we were able to sell them on to students at a price they could afford. This involved negotiating with large venues, entertainment agencies and many other businesses simultaneously to get the best deal for the students. Show less
