My generic role within this post was to ensure that the strategic business plan and mandate of Health Education East Midlands (HEEM) was put into action locally. In order for this to happen I supported the Local Education and Training Council (LETC) to develop a workforce plan for Lincolnshire which was responsive to the transformational needs of the whole workforce and informed regional and national workforce planning and educational commissioning decisions. I held a portfolio of projects and was actively engaged in a wide variety of complex workforce transformational programmes acting as the subject matter expert. A number of these projects covered the East Midlands and input into National programmes and initiatives some of which I took the regional lead on.The speciality work-stream for this post was Wider Workforce and Widening Participation Lead. I was responsible for leading the development and implementation of a local strategy for this work-stream, working in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners to implement the delivery and review of the agreed strategy in order to meet the strategic objectives of the LETC and HEEM mandates. Holding the devolved budget, bidding for extra national funding for the county along with development and review of spending plans and identifying and developing opportunities for accessing potential co-funding for this agenda.A major component of the role was to develop and maintain complex relationships, networks and communications with new and present partners and stakeholder organisations. This involved the presentation and explanation of highly complex information, issues and concepts, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Creating opportunities for collaborative working partnerships which supported the exploration, development and implementation of innovative new ways of working, across organisational and professional and agency boundaries. Show less As Project Manager it was my responsibility to oversee the development of the Assistant Practitioner Trainee programme for Lincolnshire utilising PRINCE2 methodology. I prepared detailed project and communication plans and control process to identify to the Project Steering Group key milestones, performance targets and risks. Support was provided to the operation of the Project Steering Group and the working sub-groups, to ensure all actions identified were reported, assigned and completed to achieve the project’s objectives. Building strong relations with local stakeholders including acute, community and mental health Trusts in Lincolnshire, education institutes, practice educators, senior clinicians, assistant practitioner trainees, mentors and assessors, Skills for Health and Skills for Care stakeholders, were also essential key responsibility of the role.As a result of this work Lincolnshire has a well established Assistant Practitioner workforce which continues to grow and support clinical care across acute, community health and mental health pathways. The developed project products, learning experiences and benefit realisation was shared across the East Midlands and Nationally through National groups. Show less
