  I researched the relationship between wildfires and plant pathogens in the oak woodlands of California. My work here included securing a research grant between my lab and the Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre in Australia. I also gained extensive experience in laboratory and greenhouse techniques.

  We are developing an air quality model for the state of Utah. The goal is to create a tool to estimate air pollution exposure at specific locations throughout the state. Once the model is complete, we will be able to estimate an individual's air pollution exposure and the impact on a variety of health outcomes. As a study coordinator, I learned to develop and manage health-related research from project startup to close out. As an Environmental Specialist, I conducted more than two hundred in-home environmental health assessments. Each assessment included sampling air, water, dust, pesticide, and structural evaluations.I also coordinated trainings at the national level and trained complex study procedures to more than 1,000 researchers.

  Program development and quality management at the Utah Retinal Reading Center (UREAD) The goal of our Clinical Trials Quality Assurance Group is to oversee, coordinate and conduct audits of clinical investigations to ensure regulatory compliance with University, FDA, OHRP, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), state and federal guidelines. My favorite part of this work is building our QA team and assisting in the development of quality clinical trial design.
