Lindsay Dynan Consulting Engineers
Jul 2012 - May 2014Structural EngineerLisa was lucky enough to be employed by Lindsay Dynan part time through her final 18 months of university before becoming a full time structural engineer at the end of her degree. Lindsay Dynan has a broad capability in structural engineering and as a result Lisa has been able to work on many projects varying from small residential renovations to large scale mining projects including timber residential design, concrete multi-residential design, structural steelwork and plate work in industrial and mining fields, electrical and grandstand detailing, temporary works design for demolition and maintenance and piling and retaining wall design. Being a small firm, Lisa was given responsibility to look after her own jobs and clients, complete her own inspections and work closely with directors and management. Lendlease
May 2014 - Mar 2024Lisa moved to the San Francisco office to help grow Design-Build within America just before the pandemic in 2020. She was initially tasked with leading the successful bid and then the Design-Build team of 10+ internal and 50+ external team members on the McEvoy & Dupont Apartments project to GMP.Since this project, Lisa has led multiple complex affordable housing, commercial office and higher education bids across California and was seconded to the New York team to support the design and commercial management on the complex government project bid valued at ~$3b. She has also supported the Construction team in SF acting as a Preconstruction Manager on the Pacific Station project and is responsible for the development and management of the Design-Build Standard Operating Procedures and EH&S Safety in Design Principles. Currently Lisa is seconded to the Lendlease Development Operations team managing the design for the 3401 La Cienega project slated for construction commencement in 2023. She brings project management expertise and Lendlease understanding to provide process and leadership to the new team.Lisa’s strategic mind has allowed her to coach the West Coast Construction Team to review sectors and pipeline potential to develop the West Coast strategy and she set up the system and processes that now facilitate the West Coast Construction pipeline.Always focused on people and team, Lisa has instigated the ongoing focus on developing a successful culture for the team through team goal setting, team building events, review and action of people survey results, and the definition of culture to inform the recent hires as the team has grown from 5-15+people. She is an integral part of the team, and the go-to team member for all things Lendlease. Show less As the DesignMake team grew, Lisa’s role became a more traditional structural engineering role away from the commercial and project management responsibilities she enjoyed, so she instigated a move to the User Experience team, an agile part of Lendlease Building that works on a range of smaller projects with a focus on repetitive customer interactions rather than one off jobs.Lisa’s role began as a Project Engineer managing the construction of the fit out for Accenture’s new office in International House. She was responsible for the tender, management and coordination of 10+ trades and was successful in securing Accenture as a direct client on future projects. With her background in timber and prefabrication, Lisa has become a specialist within User Experience providing advice and input to various projects, joining co-creation sessions with clients and driving the implementation of prefabrication on projects. Over the last 12 months, Lisa has taken on a more strategic role supporting the Head of Innovation and Strategy for User Experience working on multiple complex bids for social infrastructure projects tendered as programs of work. She brings enthusiasm, design management, innovative thinking and customer focus to support teams to find the best solution for their client. Lisa has been instrumental in the adoption of Agile throughout Lendlease Building specifically User Experience and regularly acts as or train others to be Scrum Masters, hacking their productivity and team building all in one. In particular, Lisa has worked closely with the Senior Leadership Team to use agile methods to understand their position in the commercial sector and gather customer feedback to improve. Show less Noticed through her work with Cross Laminated Timber for her university thesis, joined the DesignMake team at Lendlease. Lisa works as a project engineer on a variety of timber solutions not limited to multistorey residential and commercial projects. Her role extends beyond the typical consulting engineer as she becomes involved in projects from the earliest design brief to close out ensuring the benefits of timber can be realised at every level. This includes design coordination, manufacturing and construction advice and the provision of orders of cost for timber projects. Lisa played an integral part in the following projects:- Barangaroo International House, seven storey engineered timber commercial office building in Sydney, NSW. The structure consists of a Glulam Frame and CLT floor and wall construction. Lisa was responsible for the design of the project from concept to completion, in particular capturing the lessons learnt during the construction phase. - Jordan Springs Community Centre, one storey engineered timber community centre in Jordan Springs, NSW. The structure consists of a CLT wall and floor construction utilised long span Glulam beams and columns within the community hall and independent steel roofs.
