      Originally from Sorrento in Victoria, I have lived in many places including WA and the Coffs Harbour area, moving to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in 1996. I now reside in Mudjimba on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where I run classes and workshops from my home studio and around the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane at various galleries and facilities. I have worked as a professional artist for over 30 years, and have been tutoring for over 20 years, and I have been a regular tutor at many workshops on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Seaside Artist’s Gallery at Redcliffe, Griffith Flavourtech Exposed as well as Grafton Artsfest. I have also taken groups to the Greek Islands and Fiji for art workshop/holidays at Daku Resort, Savu Savu, Fiji in May each year (www.paradisecourses.com )and have a Painting and Drawing week coming up at Norfolk Island in 2018.I also run courses and workshops in painting and drawing at my home studio on a regular basis, and at Brisbane Institute of Art. I have held 20 solo exhibitions , including 6 joint exhibitions since 1994 and have received 40 awards to date within the south east Queensland, Capricorn Coast, Bundaberg area, and the South Burnett. My work is held in collections in Australia, United States, Africa and the UK.Enjoying a number of mediums I use acrylic, water colour, oil paint, and a range of drawing media - taking from nature I incorporate elements from my environment for a more tactile mixed media experience. I work in a number of drawing mediums from graphite, charcoal, pastel and/or a mixture of these across a range of surfaces, which I create myself. My studies include Bachelor of Art (Fine Arts) with Curtin University, W.A, Drawing Fundamentals and Professional Art Practice , Coffs Harbour TAFE, Diploma in Youth Work, Cert. 4 Trainer and Assessor.I am a current member of the Australian Society of Marine Artists and Royal Queensland Art Society.Website: www.lizzieconnor.com.au Show less I have worked as an artist for more than 30 years, and as an art tutor with children and adults for approximately 23 years. I teach independently and work with a number of adult groups in the mediums of acrylic, oils, pastel, mixed media, drawing/drawing & mixed media from beginners level to advanced learning introducing learners to a variety of mediums, and encouraging them to explore the creative process and enjoy a positive process of learning about art.My employment roles have also included working in youth and community (I am also a qualified youth worker and trainer), using my art practice as a tool to engage young people, develop activities, as well as art being a powerful therapeutic tool, or a means of communication for those who find verbal communication difficult. I have also been involved in public art projects via Work For the Dole Programs from 2000 - 2003, and 2012 in the Sunshine Coast Region. I currently conduct workshops and courses at my home studio at Mudjimba on the Sunshine Coast, at various local facilities, Brisbane Institute of Art and annual workshops at Daku Resort, Savu Savu, Fiji.
