Unlocked over $100m in financial incentives that lower barriers to the adoption of sustainable farming/ranching practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, sequester carbon in soils/biomass, and offer environmental and public health co-benefits.I led CalCAN's work on Renewable Energy, Water, Dairy, and Climate Adaptation. This included:- Building and sustaining CalCAN's network of farmers, researchers, and food system stakeholders through briefings, workshops, webinars, press/media outreach, public speaking, blog posts, and educational materials- Drafting language, strategy and messaging at the State Legislature- Verbal and written testimony at the California Public Utilities Commission, Department of Food and Agriculture, Air Resources Board, Department of Water Resources, Natural Resources Agency, and others- Authoring white papers, fact sheets, memos, and public comment on a wide range of environmental policy subjectsCalCAN advances policies to support California agriculture in the face of climate change.
