      2018 Gender & Sexualities Studies Paper Prize Department of Critical Diversity Studies May 2018 Upon graduation, I was awarded this prize and a small purse, for my essay titled; "Out and Proud until Our Last Breath? How familial estrangement shaped the aging process of the Pre-Stonewall generation of LGBTQ+ adults." This essay examined how institutional medical trauma experienced in the 1940s-50s has created the current caregiving and housing crisis amongst LGBTQ seniors.
