  The European Medical Students´ Association – Association Européenne des Étudiants en Médecine (EMSA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation representing medical students from all across Europe. Founded 1990 in Brussels, it is the only voice of students within the European Medical Organisations. EMSA is recognised by the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the United Nations. The association provides a platform for high-level advocacy, projects, trainings, workshops and international meetings. Its activities gather around Medical Education, Medical Ethics and Human Rights, Health Policy, Public Health, Medical Science and European Integration and Culture. Show less

  The main aim of the Network of Students’ Participation in Science Working Group is to create a bridge between Medical Students and Researchers. Although medical students have a curiosity for science and a desire to participate in scientific studies, there is often a lack of correct guidance. Likewise, the professors who are active in laboratories have the ideal of teaching students to do research. Although both parties have similar requests, the current problem stems from the lack of communication. Medicine students who stay away from the research culture during their undergraduate period, turn them into physicians who only store information instead of questioning and searching. At this point, our Working Group was established to remove the gap between scientist and students and to provide an opportunity to students who want to participate in scientific studies. Show less
