  Open source intelligenceI've had many really bad experiences with recruitering/staffing firms. I have had a couple good experiences with recruiters. I've had one truly great experience with a recruiter(firm). I decided to join them (S3 that is) and instead of complain about the recruiting industry i thought as a job seeker who is a disabled vet, full time father and like many out there I changed careers late(r) in life and know first hand what it feels like to be on the other side, the job seeker who knows nothing about the process and just wants to apply to a certain job and work at/for that specific company. Once waiting over 60 days (literally) from interview to start date and all the while being totally blind to what was going on, is there an issue? is it something i can help resolve? should i keep searching for postitions while im in limbo waiting for a job that I'm not even sure knows they are in the process of bringing me on board. I've seen first hand the games played by some in the industry that they might not even know they are playing, it's one persons life and another persons paycheck. It's a scary thing to be running out of resources and not know if you have help coming soon. I never want a candidate that works a team that im part of to ever feel uninformed, like they cant ask questions or be lied to. A recruiting/staffing firm must make their living too so honesty about rates is a big one. Ive been in the situation before where im told the max rate and not to discuss this with colleagues, people are going to talk so I hope to bring a fair, honest informed perspective from the employee side and merge this with the employer side.
