      Technologist - COVID Testing

As a Molecular Technologist, I was entrusted with handling over 1500 COVID specimens delivered to us from across the country. I used my micropipette skills to aliquot COVID-19 specimens into 96-well plates during extraction and system processing. This also involved rigorous documentation of preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. I operated various high-tech instruments such as TECAN, KingFisher Flex, and QuantStudios 7 Flex Real-Time PCR System, performing Quality Control and Preventative Maintenance procedures for each. Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our Bio-Safety Cabinets was an additional duty I carried out diligently, which allowed us to deliver accurate, non-contaminated results within 24 hours. Medical Laboratory Assistant: COVID Department

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, I played a pivotal role in accessioning over 5000 COVID samples from diverse sources including students, athletes, and faculty at Duke University. My responsibilities spanned both laboratory and administrative tasks. I prepared samples for automated pooling and PCR testing, and maintained a robust tracking system for test results. Outside of lab duties, I handled inventory control and assembled testing kits, continuously striving to enhance efficiency in a high-pace, high-pressure environment. Show less

Clinical Research Coordinator: Department of Dermatology

In my role as a Clinical Research Coordinator for dermatology, I accrued over 6 patients for 4-6 phase III autoimmune dermatological trials. My duties encompassed all phases of the trials, from study start-up to close-out, as well as monitoring visits. I was responsible for overseeing 10 clinical studies and 13 patients, both active and in follow-up stages. I executed over 6 informed consent processes in line with FDA and GCP guidelines and reported necessary study data to sponsors and IRBs. Clinical assessments, such as EKG and blood specimen collection, were also part of my routine tasks. Show less

Clinical Research Coordinator: Hematological Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplant

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, I was actively involved in all stages of 8-10 clinical trials for leukemia and other hematological malignancies. I helped accrue over 8 patients for their respective trials, adhering strictly to FDA and GCP guidelines. Collaborating with two Principal Investigators, I successfully negotiated amendments to the Informed Consent Form on three different trials. I was entrusted with the responsibility to address findings from sponsor and institutional monitoring visits and audits. Moreover, I diligently collected required study data, including adverse event data, and performed over 20 EKG assessments and research blood draws as required by the protocol. Show less

Lead Clinical Research Coordinator: Lymphoma and Multiple Melanoma Malignancies

As the lead study coordinator for the lymphoma department, I oversee recruiting patients for clinical studies and the management process throughout. I have accrued over 15 patients on 7 Lymphoma and 3 Myeloma clinical trials. I currently oversee over 30 patients (including both active and follow up) on 15 trials in accordance with FDA, ICH, and GCP guidelines. I have trained and delegated tasks relating to study start up, maintenance, and close out to two research specialists and one data coordinator, ensuring that all team members are properly equipped to carry out their responsibilities. I work in tandem with 4 Lymphoma and 3 Myeloma physicians to retrieve and review medical records for data accuracy, abstraction, monitor visits, and audits, and ensure that all trial data is collected and recorded accurately. I have identified, screened, and consented between 15-20 research patients to their respective studies based on prognosis, and manage biospecimen/imaging collection as required by protocol. In addition - I create all necessary study documentation required for each trial (including protocols, informed consent forms, case report forms, and other necessary materials. Show less
