  While attending Virginia Tech, I was able to study abroad at Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland and complete a Service Learning Project in Rilima, Rwanda. While in Switzerland, I took courses in Italian, marketing research, consumer behavior and marketing, society, and the public interest. I also worked on a consulting field project to develop a business and marketing plan for a small non-profit organization that delivers programs to vulnerable populations. I also worked on a consulting field project to develop a business and marketing plan for a small non-profit organization that delivers programs to vulnerable populations. In Africa, I consulted with local Rwanda schools and businesses to cultivate extensive curricula in English, computer functionality, and programming skills to educate Rwanda students in U.S. culture and professional development. In our spare time, we worked on creating a community center for the village in Rwanda where they could provide job training to help the community. Show less
