Panafon-Vodafone Greece holded wider spectrum & leading position for 3G services. Siemens acquired Italtel 2G product portfolio, and formed a Siemens–NEC 3G Joint Venture. As a Sales Consultant for Vodafone Account, supported Siemens customer team to achieve a major win. During 2002 Siemens/ Nokia/ Ericsson/ Nortel provided their technical responses for Vodafone UK 3G RFQ. Vodafone Greece accepted the VDF UK 3G RFQ technical evaluation (as a basis for the Greek 3G eAuction), and compressed substantially the several months of RFQ negotiation rounds used in Greece to just a few days (28-30.10.2003). Vodafone Greece was pilot for this eAuction to speed up 3G deployment required for Athens 2004 Olympic Games. This event was to change the industry game for both Vodafone and the telco vendors.
