  As a participant in the Pen Project, I gained experience in the field of Correctional Education by applying previously acquired tutoring and teaching skills to a learned pedagogy of Prison Education. Using the Amherst method, I provided constructive feedback on creative writing produced by incarcerated students in solitary confinement at the New Mexico Penitentiary.

  The Intuitive Writing Project

  As the Director of After-School Programs, I re-aligned our grade school programs with our organization's original mission to uplift girls, providing a safe and supportive space for them to self-express through creative writing. I also have worked to expand our program into two additional school districts, as well as form partnerships with organizations who share our mission. As a creative writing teacher, I lead classes and writing workshops following the Amherst Writing Method. I teach students different aspects of and approaches to writing creatively, as well as support them with brainstorming as they self-express through storytelling. In the Summer of 2023, I was given the opportunity to curate and lead TIWP's inaugural creative writing outdoors camp for middle school girls. I created a curriculum that incorporated nature into our pre-existing practices.
