  During my penultimate summer at university I did a 12 week summer placement with John Balch of Nautilus associates. I helped build a range of business tools, advertise and promote these tools and held a breakfast presentation to local businesses. During this time i worked in the EEEgr office and my placement was sponsored by Shell.

  After graduating from the UEA with a 2:1 degree in business management I gained a place on the PKF graduate training program to become a Chartered Accountant.Following successful completion of my ICAS exams in May 2011 I became a Chartered Accountant in September 2011 upon completion of my training contract and became a Senior Business Adviser within the firm.During my time at PKF I gained experience in audit and accounts preparation (including IFRS) with experience in high turnover or high asset base companies. I was the senior on audit assignments and was responsible for the development of junior members of staff and drafting Corporation Tax returns. I worked with clients from as close as across the road in Gorleston to as far as the Falkland Islands!This wide range of skills obtained stood me in good stead for a career in accountancy and business.   In June 2020, I became a member of the Corton House Limited board. My role is focused on providing strategic and financial support and insight to the board and executive team. Corton House, is a 42 bedded care home with a mission to provide excellent loving care and support for older people. The company also operates a mixture of 51 flats and bungalows providing independent living at nearby Brakendon Close. Corton House is a not-for-profit organisation that has been operating for over 60 years, with a Christian ethos and a charitable status. Show less
