  During my formative high school years I invested my time into the volunteering program. At William Newton Hospital I explored several departments, serving in various capacities. I made personal connections with those I worked with and developed people skills while interacting with patients. I expanded my knowledge of hospital operations while shadowing in central supply, marketing, and the sterilization process. Beyond that, I witnessed the hospital environment and its unique career opportunities. I served in the Heart Menders program for the rehabilitation of patients with heart conditions. I encouraged patients while they worked on their exercises, and provided refreshments. The patients energized me and gave me a passion for working with older adults. Show less
