      Aerographer's Mate

      Aerographer's mates are the Navy's meteorological and oceanographic experts, trained in the science of meteorology and physical oceanography. They also use instruments that monitor weather characteristics such as air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction. They then distribute this data to aircraft, ships and shore activities. The duties performed by AGs include: •collecting, recording and analyzing weather and oceanographic information; •preparing up-to-date weather maps and oceanographic data; •issuing weather forecasts and warnings; •conducting weather/oceanographic briefings; •using, testing, calibrating and performing minor and preventive maintenance on meteorological instruments including satellite receivers; •preparing balloon-carried instruments for flight, evaluating and analyzing data received; •operating, programming and maintaining computers and related equipment. Tactfully coordinate the Environmental Remediation efforts between the federal, state, and municipal agencies, the various consultants, the various vendors and sub–contractors, the Legal entities, and the Corporation, such that a “ no further action “ status is achieved for the Remediation Project(s) as soon as feasible.Manage the staff, assets, and resources of Met–Coil Systems, LLC at the former Lockformer facility in Lisle, Illinois, while protecting the environments in and around the facility, and ensuring the health and safety of all employees, tenants, guests, and visitors. Manages all cost – effectively research, negotiate for best terms / pricing, and then obtain approvals for, procurement and utilization of unique materials, labor, and supplies as necessary to minimize excess costs associated with dependence on outside services / providers.
