      As a part of my PBA in International Hospitality Management i did an internship as Ashanti Lodge and Travel Centre located in Cape Town, South Africa. This 3 months internship gave me more knowledge and practical skills within the industry. I worked in different areas in the company, hereunder mainly as a receptionist and in the office as an accountant assistant. As a part of my studies we needed to do a project. This project was about solving a problem to the company or optimize their business. We found out the image of Ashanti wasn’t that sustainable - a word that is very popular at the moment in the hospitality industry - even though they have multiple sustainable actions. We therefore came up with different practical solutions that we were able to implement.Among other we made small stations around the hostel where you could make or hand over your EcoBrick (A sustainable bottle filled with plastic, that would be used to build with).
