      I used microbiology, molecular genetics, and biochemistry techniques to study biofilm formation by Agrobacterium tumefaciens on biotic (plant) and abiotic (plastic) surfaces. I discovered that biofilm formation in A. tumefaciens is regulated by an FNR-like oxygen-responsive transcriptional regulator, named SinR (for Surface interaction regulator).
