      Fully exceeded performance expectations during my 8-month Co-op as a Field Technician at Thurber Engineering Ltd as I was hard working, took in and learned from criticism, attentive to detail, quick to learn, friendly and approachable.• Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) certified and performed numerous concrete tests, with the use of an air meter, slump cone, and cylinder molds, with their respective tamping rods.• Worked independently in the field by driving a company truck to site and performed compaction tests, using a nuclear densometer to test the compaction of an area of various soils (clay, sand and gravel).• Performed concrete tests, using an air meter, slump cone and cylinder mold, with their respective tamping rods to check the air, slump and strength of concrete being placed matched the specifications of the client.• Observed some proof-roll inspections alongside a TEL project engineer. • Developed communication skills through constant interactions and maintaining of relationships with the company’s clients and those clients’ contractors and/or representatives.• Received a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Class 7 certification from TEL. • Trained and certified to properly and safely operate nuclear densometers for the testing of various soils.• Helped to train and develop new hires.• Interpreted design drawings regularly to mark where nuclear densometer tests were performed or specify the location(s) of concrete pours while performing concrete tests.• Drove to various work sites in Edmonton and its surrounding areas, with the furthest locations being 2.5 hours away.       Research Intern

      Worked as a research intern in the Wireless Networking Research Laboratory under Dr. Abraham Fapojuwo and alongside Mr. Akash Melethil, with the goal of designing and implementing a printed circuit board (PCB) and software to make use and interface with the Semtech 126x chipset for LoRa communication.• Designed, analyzed and adjusted four different types of antennas to attain specific targets for their center frequency, radiation pattern, polarization, impedance and gain using HFSS software• Designed a PCB of an antenna drawn using Adobe Illustrator and PCB software KiCAD that was sent to the manufacturer for production• Compiled weekly progress reports for my supervisor of steps done towards accomplishing set tasks and what plans are to be done for the following week• Prepared a final project report that presented the main results of the testing• Emailed summarized weekly meetings with my supervisor to the Professor overseeing the research laboratory• Attended monthly meetings involving all researchers from the same laboratory and summarized progress made during the month, as well as plans for the following month Show less

      Co-op Field Service Engineer

      Working in field services as a Co-op student, I was assigned to work in Fort St. John, BC for BC Hydro's Site C dam project on rotations of 15 days on and 6 days off, with each work day lasting a minimum of 12 hours. My rotations began at the end of January, 2019 and lasted until the end of August, 2019, when my Co-op work term ended. The responsibilities assigned to me were: - Daily manual readings and downloads of geotechnical instruments.- Process data retrieved from manual readings into graphs that display cumulative and incremental movement, using inclinalysis software.- Maintenance and upkeep of equipment and installed instruments.- Assist supervisors with instrument installations.- Troubleshoot equipment and installed instruments, both supplied by RST Instruments, when required.- Continual upkeep of on-site work areas and equipment.
