      My initial role within the Police Service was at Basildon Police Station where I performed various duties including response vehicle patrol. I worked in a highly charged area with a varying demographic community mainly from the London and South East areas. I also encountered Gypsy and Roma groups on a static site at Pitsea, Essex, dealing with varying problems and situations.

      During my service I worked initially at Folkestone Police Station and then at No. 4 Area Traffic Office, Ashford, Kent. During the latter part of my service as a Patrol Officer, my duties included Motorcycle Patrol. I achieved a double class 1 permit for cars and motorcycles and also qualified as a Police Driving Instructor at Maidstone Police Driving School.

      I managed a team of Investigations Officers dealing with a broad range of traditional environmental problems and environmental crime issues such as noise pollution, dog control and fly-tipping within the Community Safety department. Liaised closely with neighbouring authorities and Police and other services to ensure we were effective and was also a Gypsy, Roma and Traveller liaison officer. I dealt with their day to day needs and the effect unlawful encampments had on the local community ensuring the balance between groups was maintained.       Working with new clients approaching Locassa either via the internet or directly by telephone, I handle their initial enquiries giving advice and ensuring that we understand their needs and the client understands the process and what we require of them. Enquiries are then passed to the development and graphic designer teams for feasibility assessment and then to proposal and development stage. Customer service has always been a key issue in my working life and ensuring that client needs are met and processes work smoothly, are as important as it gets. Show less
