      - Supervised design, implementation, and commissioning of three offshore gas platforms and the onshore gas processing facility.- Managed EPC construction contractor and delivery schedule.- Commissioned onshore and offshore Control Systems including Gas Metering and Custody Transfer.- Identified a deficiency in the controllers for the offshore gas platforms that created a significant safety risk and risk of explosion. Worked with the control systems manufacture to identify and implement an upgrade to eliminate the deficiency and remove the explosion risk. Show less

      Project & Risk Manager – Olympic Dam Control Systems Upgrade

      - Managed the design and implementation of the Control System Upgrade project for Uranium processing, while the mine and surface processing remained operational. This was the largest PC based SCADA system upgrade in the world with 800,000 SCADA tags.- Implemented fallback programs for each project deliverable associated with rolling shutdowns, to prevent total mine shutdown in the event a project deliverable was not completed within the required time window.       - Implemented project risk management methodology for the company’s capital programs, conforming to both PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and ISO31000: Risk Management.- Conducted risk management at each project stage gate for capital programs between US $300MM-$30B.- Trained 500+ project personnel on risk management including the first 8 recipients in the Middle East of the PMI Risk Management Professional Certification and established a strong risk management culture.- Demonstrated US $600MM of direct savings on 5 projects valued between US $300MM-$1B.- Identified project risk of over US $1B on a $14B offshore gas program that ultimately resulted in project contract cancellation and significant project redesign.- Introduced risk management training and certification to major construction projects in the Middle East and trained recipients of the PMI Risk Management Professional qualification in the Middle East.
