  As Vice President of the VMware User Group, I provide strategic direction and oversight to an independent, non-profit technical community that comprises over 150,000 end users in 73 countries around the world. It is our job to ensure we put VMware customers in the best position to maximize their use of VMware and partner solutions through knowledge sharing, training, collaboration, and events. I Co-lead the Minneapolis VMware User Group. A VMUG leader's responsibilities include running our quarterly meetings and annual user conferences, acquiring, recruiting and maintaining membership for the chapter via social media and other networking means, recruiting sponsors and customer presentations for meeting content, working with VMware System Engineers to coordinate VMware updates for the user group, and planning other meeting logistics. Elected to serve as one of twelve voting members on the VMware User Group's Board of Directors where I provide leadership and vision to the global VMUG community while contributing to defining VMUG’s path forward. I Co-lead the North Central Wisconsin VMware User Group.
