  CUBE(Collaboratively Understanding Biology Education) https://www.hbcse.tifr.res.in/research-development/collaboratively-understanding-biology-education-cube is a platform where through Vertical integration of schools, colleges, and research centers all students, teachers, and researchers work collaboratively on various research projects(plant and animal model system) and discuss it every day. These daily discussions help everyone to develop their biology research and communication skills. It helped me a lot to improve my communication and presentation skills as CUBE also organizes Annual National Meets where we present our work. I also unlearned to mug up my syllabus for marks and rather conceptually understand it with the help of a context. I have worked on various model systems like Earthworm, Moina, Cardamine, Phyllanthus, Snails, and Mosquito with other collaborators and tried to understand their fundamental physiology. Show less

  As a CUBE KISHORE BHARATI INTERN I have to encourage and follow up on the home-lab-based activities and also encourage active participation and engagement in the daily ChatShaala sessions. Many CUBists every day discover something new when they join the CUBE Chatshaala session and I have to moderate this session and help them to develop on that. We have to aim at changing the conventional idea that 'Science can only be done in Laboratories with sophisticated instruments' and convey the message to people that 'SOPHISTICATION IS REQUIRED IN MIND, NOT IN LAB'. We would also make the celebration of Goof-ups(Mistakes) in research projects more streamline as students tend to hide those because they have been taught so for getting marks. I would also be participating in the presentation of CUBE Homelab projects in various educational institutions with my other colleagues and collaborators. Show less

  On job training

  We were assigned to take daily observations of Bell pepper crop and Muskmelon Crop. The parameters for observations include soil temp, humidity, wilting in plants(if noticed) light intensity and soil water level. Apart from this the microbial analysis of Panchgavya (Biofertilizer) was performed by serial dilution method on PDA and Nutrient Agar plates. The microflora diversity was observed. Soil analysis in terms of Organic Carbon content and Calcium , Magnesium level were estimated by the titrimetric method. The soil microbial flora was also analysed by Serial Dilution and by plating on PDA and Nutrient Plate. Show less
