  During my time at Météo Bénin, the national meteorology agency of Benin, I learned a lot about how weather forecasts are generally made.I entered and recorded climate data into a specific software used by the agency for forecasting purposes.I learned how to write a session report and an internship report for the first time.I had the opportunity to meet many qualified individuals who supported me in my learning journey.

  During my internship at the NGO JVE BÉNIN (Jeunes Volontaires pour l'Environnement), I gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the organization, monitoring, and actual execution of events for environmental protection.A typical example was the event I organized, called the "March Against Fossil Fuels," which took place from the Amazon Square to the Labs VG area. It was a great success, as I managed to mobilize over 150 people.Additionally, I learned how to write event and meeting reports, as well as how to create terms of reference (ToR) for events.It was a pleasure for me to undertake this internship.   On October 20, 2023, the official launch of the JVF (Jeune Voix Francophone) program took place, initiated by #ECOLOTRIP in partnership with the #Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (#OIF). This program brings together 600 young people from 6 Francophone African countries, including Benin.Training, coaching, mentoring, and many other activities centered around themes such as the environment, peace and security, and youth participation in important decision-making processes were at the heart of the three-day event.   As Secretary General of the NGO JVE-UAC, I am the pillar on which the organization and its structure rest. My role goes beyond that of simple administrative management; I am the guardian of our values, our procedures and our collective memory. My first role is to ensure that meetings run smoothly and that information circulates efficiently within the organization. This involves preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of decisions made at meetings. Next, I am responsible for keeping all organizational documents and records up to date. . This includes statutes and regulations, activity reports, budgets and contracts. My goal is to guarantee transparency and traceability of all our actions. An essential aspect of my role is also the coordination of the different committees and working groups within the organization. This involves facilitating communication between these entities, monitoring the progress of projects and actions, and ensuring that everyone has the necessary resources to carry out their mission.   Through the acceptance of our application by the Open Dialogues International Foundation for the "Dialogues Ouverts sur le Changement Climatique 2024" project in Benin, I gained valuable experience in international collaboration and climate advocacy. This achievement allows our team, Les Jeunes Voix Vertes, to represent our country in global discussions on climate change, participate in events, and coordinate activities with international support. We will also contribute to the final report presented at COP29, where our efforts will be showcased. This victory highlights our commitment to environmental causes and deepens my understanding of global climate initiatives and the role of youth in driving change. Show less

  During my active participation in LCOY Benin 19, held in Kétou from July 25 to 27, 2024, I gained a concrete introduction to climate negotiation processes.This conference, centered on the theme "Youth, Women, Adaptation, and Resilience to Climate Change," offered me unique opportunities, such as speaking on behalf of international youth during the official opening, summarizing the first day, and deepening my understanding of Benin's strategic climate documents (PNA, CDN, PNGCC, PANA).I was also honored as a winner of a policy writing competition on the empowerment of youth and women in the face of climate change, enhancing my skills in public speaking, strategic analysis, and advocacy for inclusive climate policies.   Thanks to my participation in the Climate Activist Day and the COP 29 simulation, I gained skills in climate negotiation, including preparing and delivering strategic speeches, defending the interests of an international group (G77 + China), and engaging in bilateral negotiations.This experience also helped me strengthen my abilities in public speaking, pressure management, strategic analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders.I learned to turn my mistakes into opportunities for growth, to better understand the complexities of climate policies, and to adapt to unforeseen challenges.This experience has solidified my commitment to environmental issues and my determination to represent my country with dignity in future negotiations, whether real or simulated.   As the General Organizer of OJECC Benin, my role is pivotal in achieving the organization’s objectives and mobilizing youth to take action on water and climate change issues.As the General Organizer of OJECC Benin, I serve as the driving force behind our commitment to addressing water and climate change challenges. My responsibilities extend far beyond coordinating activities; I am the essential link between our vision and its implementation on the ground.My primary responsibility is to define and guide the organization’s overall strategy. This involves understanding the complex issues related to water and climate, keeping up with trends and advancements in these fields, and translating this knowledge into concrete actions for our community.Additionally, I am responsible for mobilizing and coordinating a dynamic and diverse team. This includes recruiting and training new members, ensuring effective communication across all departments, and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute to our shared cause.As the General Organizer, I am also the public face of our organization. This means representing OJECC Benin at events, meetings, and national and international conferences, as well as promoting our actions and achievements to the media and the wider public.Finally, my role goes beyond operational tasks. I am a catalyst for change, inspiring and motivating young people to actively engage in protecting water and the environment in the face of climate change challenges. Show less During my first experience as a lead moderator, I had the honor of co-hosting the workshop on strengthening the resilience of Beninese communities to flood risks, held on September 10-11, 2024, by OJECC-Benin.This event brought together over 65 participants from various countries (Mali, Togo, Niger, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and different regions of Benin) for multipartite discussions.I introduced key communications on the national disaster risk management strategy, particularly floods, and moderated a panel featuring representatives from the ANPC, INE, and Météo-Bénin to highlight their collaboration in reducing flood risks.This experience allowed me to develop concrete skills in moderation, coordination, stakeholder management, and popularizing environmental risk management strategies.
