  As an associate at the Waukee APEX program, I connect with business partners throughout the Des Moines area and complete projects for them. I have worked with partners at DCPH to work on the Walkability Audit and I have also been working with a program to do eye tests on children in schools.

  During the Walkability Audit project, my team and I went out to evaluate a walking path to see what makes that trail amazing and what can be done to help improve it for every citizen. This experience has given me a wonderful chance to evaluate how people's health is impacted by the community and what the community can do to help all the citizens.
