  A Community Life NCO will accompany all PVT/E-1 thru SGT/E-5 service members and/or their families during the signing of Quarters as an active duty advocate for new families. The CLNCO improves, through involvement, the quality of life for Soldiers and Families in Cavalry Family Housing. Be an advocate for all Soldiers and Families in an effort to rebuild and maintain the trust of residents who reside on-post. Meet weekly with the Community Manager to address issues and concerns. Identify security and safety concerns within the neighborhoods and report findings to the Military Police and courtesy copy to the Community Manager, Housing SGM, and Chief Housing Division. Receive complaints and suggestions from residents on living conditions/standards, issues within the communities and provide the information to the Community Manager for corrective actions. The CLNCO will remain a separate entity from the Residential Community Initiatives (RCI). This ensures CLNCOs remain neutral and continue to serve as an advocate for Soldiers and Families. Community Life NCOs work in conjunction with On-Post Housing services to include DPW/maintenance interactions, as well as Off-Post Housing Services, and is closely monitored by the Garrison/III Corps command teams. Show less Serves as the Operations Sergeant in an Squadron, comprised of 4 Cavalry Troops, a Headquarters and Headquarters Troop (HHT), and a Combat Support Troop (CST), with an assigned strength of 750 Soldiers; conducts operations and training on full spectrum operations; assists the Operations Sergeant Major in the planning, preparation, and execution of combat training missions; enforces tactical and Soldier discipline; supervises and assists the Battalion Schools, Training, and DTS NCOs; prepares the TOC for orders, drills, briefs, and rehearsals; receives and appropriately handles and distributes OPRORDs, FRAGOs, and Serious Incident Reports (SIRs); responsible for the accountability, maintenance and readiness of equipment in excess of $10 million; responsible for the health, welfare, training and operational readiness of 4 NCO's and 8 Soldiers in the section; performs duties as the Operations Sergeant Major in his absence. Show less Establishes and maintains contacts, interviews, and advises civilian personnel to obtain qualified applicants for enlistment into the Army. Contacts representatives of schools, public officials, personnel managers, parents of prospective applicants, religious and civil leaders, and others to present the Army as an employment and career opportunity. Presents formal and informal talks on advantages of the Army at civic and service organizations and Interviews and counsels prospective enlistees. Discusses individual aims and goals to include security, personal aptitudes, training opportunities, job satisfaction and stability, advancement, prestige, and military life. Explains Army benefits including: medical care, dependent allowance, housing, reenlistment bonus, retirement program, military/civilian educational opportunities, travel, recreational benefits, and all similar programs. Evaluates applicants’ occupational, educational, and psychological background to determine Army programs with specific individual appeal. Explains occupational and organizational structure of the Army to applicants, parents, and interested groups of individuals.Administers and scores screening physical examination, and enlisted screening test of applicants and counsels with regard to reasonable occupational aspirations within the Army. Counsels disqualified applicants. Assists in administration of Armed Services Vocational Battery (ASVAB) and explains results to school officials and students.Advises applicants of disqualification’s which are waiverable and assists preparation of waiver application. Gathers individual data and prepares forms and documents incident to enlistment processing. Arranges for transportation, meals, and lodging for applicants where required. Maintains prospect card files, school program folders, and prospecting lists. Assists in market research and analysis of recruiting territory and makes appropriate recommendations to station commander.
