  Change the Current (CTC) is a unique training on the science of climate change and adaptation and mitigation strategies that empower adolescents and youth to be climate changemakers. The protocol developed by Professor Jambeck at the University of Georgia is implemented to collect community-level data about inputs, consumption, product design, use, collection, waste management, and plastic leakage into the environment. These data are used to support intervention and inform decisions about how to reduce land-based plastic pollution, in a shift towards a circular economy.

  Participated in a comprehensive 4-month fellowship focused on improving farmed animal welfare in Southeast Asia. The fellowship provided in-depth training on key issues surrounding animal agriculture and advocacy, including:Week 1-2: Introduction to farmed animal welfare and an overview of industrial animal agriculture.Week 3-4: Explored emerging issues in farming land animals, fish, and shrimp welfare.Week 5-6: Learned strategies for corporate engagement, animal welfare improvement, and producer engagement, including welfare labeling.Week 7-8: Gained insights into public policy, legislation, and effective communication techniques for animal advocacy.Week 9-11: Developed skills in animal advocacy, project proposal writing, and building public awareness campaigns for the plant-based movement and alternative proteins.Through this fellowship, I acquired practical knowledge in addressing animal welfare concerns, engaging with stakeholders, and creating impactful advocacy projects.
