Coordinated details of furnace design and hardware development including FAT visits and inspections of supplied hardware. Scoped and managed construction efforts for demolition, structural/mechanical construction, jacket water system installation, concentrate feed system and burner upgrades with contracted engineering and construction labor force. Played active role in developing, implementing and sustaining HSE programs and practices for project execution phase. Facilitated field design adjustments throughout course of construction. Directly managed project budget and schedule. Collaborated with contractor and owner's teams to commission furnace automation/control systems, mechanical systems, piping system and refractory (heat-up).2015-2017: Took responsibility for CAPEX & OPEX project planning & execution in the anode refining area of a copper smelter. Work included shaft furnace repairs, holding furnace/slide gate repairs, anode furnace repairs, casting wheel repairs, concrete repairs and launder repairs. Continuous improvement of anode furnace refractory design including tuyere longevity and brick details, skim mouth longevity, castable material trials in off-gas hood, off-gas gas composition monitoring re: refining cycle optimization, scrap handling improvements and material trials. Major projects included minor anode furnace rebuilds, area concrete repairs, quench tower ductwork replacments and scrap handling area pavement upgrades. Show less
