In my role as the principal assistant to the Commanding Officer for the largest unit in the United States Marine Corps, I demonstrated a distinguished track record in effectively managing and supervising multifaceted organizations comprising thousands of individuals. Overseeing a team of 100 Marines and civilians, I provided exceptional support to more than 10,000 civilian employees, service members, and their families across various units stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico. My leadership contributed to the success and efficiency of operations, reflecting a commitment to excellence and a proven ability to navigate complex responsibilities within a dynamic military environment. Show less In my role as the principal advisor for two critical capability units based in Okinawa, Japan, I demonstrated exceptional leadership by overseeing the execution of over a dozen military exercises across the Pacific, spanning from Australia to Thailand to South Korea. My efforts were instrumental in fostering a positive command climate, resulting in superior outcomes. With a successful track record in managing complex organizations, I effectively supervised hundreds of personnel. Additionally, I served as the Senior Advisor and Family Readiness Officer, guiding unit leaders on personnel matters for a community of over 2500 Marines and their families. My responsibilities included planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive physical fitness, professional development, and family readiness programs. I played a vital role in the development and implementation of highly successful strategic plans, both short and long-term, while ensuring compliance with rules, regulations, and directives related to administration matters. I maintained open communication with organizational staff, keeping them informed of significant changes and developments for seamless implementation. Show less As a seasoned professional, I was hand-selected to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in operational and logistical planning, program management, and training for a team of over 1000 personnel within the Iraqi Army. Tasked with mentoring and coaching Iraqi staff, I played a pivotal role in achieving the highest ratings for Iraqi units operating independently from coalition forces. In a counterinsurgency environment, I advised the Iraqi Battalion Commander and staff on all operations, fostering a professional relationship with Iraqi soldiers to enhance Coalition teamwork and unit cohesion. My responsibilities extended to the development of officers and non-commissioned officers through effective oral and written instruction, providing mentorship that contributed to their initiative and growth. I also took charge of administering relations between the Iraqi Intervention Force and political leaders, a crucial aspect in establishing security across the expansive city of Mosul, covering over 500 square miles. Overseeing the leadership and employment of personnel and equipment valued at $10 million, I successfully guided joint combat operations with United States Special Forces and other Coalition Forces in City Mosul and Taji, Iraq. One of my significant achievements was the creation of tactics, techniques, and procedures to extract valuable information and intelligence from the local populace. This initiative resulted in the recovery of numerous weapons caches and the apprehension of several anti-coalition militia members. The culmination of these efforts led to the recognition of the 2nd Iraqi Intervention Battalion as one of the top-performing battalions among 106 active Iraqi Battalions within the Multi-Nation Corps Iraq. Professionally identified, prepared, reviewed, and maintained educational materials and information resources utilized in prevention and education programs. Actively participated as a trainer/facilitator in the early intervention program, delivering didactic portions of outpatient treatment tracks for aftercare programs and pretreatment groups. Skillfully developed and presented engaging presentations, effectively communicating during organization briefings and community outreach activities. Conducted comprehensive need assessments, facilitated focus groups and interviews, and successfully formulated an annual prevention plan with a focus on universal and selective intervention for a community exceeding 20,000 residents. Show less As the National Capital Region (NCR) SMP Coordinator, I represented the region at conferences and meetings, leading a council of active-duty personnel to plan diverse activities and address quality of life (QOL) issues. My responsibilities included the development and delivery of programs, as well as maintaining open communication with Marines and Sailors across Recreation Centers in various geographical areas to address localized problems.
