For my role within the company on a daily basis i have to deal with the general public and ensure that each customer has their needs met and exceeded wherever possible. I sometimes are required to work on a till and therefore have to work with money ensuring each customer receives the correct change and also by working on till I would usually be the first face that the customer sees upon entering the restaurant therefore I have to be a welcoming friendly and helpful person. Through my time with the company i have learnt a lot about customer needs and how each customer is different and how to deal with this. I feel that through my different skills i am now able to ensure that each customer leaved our sore happy and wanting to return in the future. Also within the store I am part of a large team which has helped me become a good team player and team leader when needed. Show less

    • Bradin Trubshaw Solicitors

      Nov 2012 - Nov 2012
      Work Experience

I shadowed a solicitor overlooking several matters including family law and pro bate. This helped me to see how legal research and preparation for cases is done within a law firm. Also I overlooked and helped with filling away certain information that clients may have brought into the office as evidence for a case. Also during my time with the firm I was able to go with one partner to a public tribunal within Birmingham and overlooked the preparation for the case and also sat in during the hearing. Show less

    • Citizens Advice

      Mar 2014 - Nov 2015
      Advisor

My position at the bureau required me to deal with clients on a daily basis, i conducted several interviews each week with clients which lasted between approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Within this time it was my role to understand a clients issue, conduct research into the specific problems and advise the client accordingly. Clients can have issues regarding a number of areas including benefits, family, housing, employment, immigration and debt. Through training i have acquired a lot of knowledge in each of these areas and are now able to adapt this knowledge to different scenarios. Furthermore after I have finished the advice with a client i have to then complete a write up containing all information of the interview and log this onto the system. Through volunteering here i have developed many extra skills that i use within interviews such as negotiation skills with debts and also communication skills over the phone. Finally one of the aims of the citizens Advice to to challenge public policy therefore if the issue within an interview seems to highlight a public policy issue then this is also something i would raise with the client and therefore fill out a evidence form and submit this onto the system. Thus, dealing with issues that affect a large amount of people within the local and then wider community. Show less

During my temporary administrative role at Pro Active Safety & Training I was involved in undertaking duties that included: taking bookings for training courses, liaising with candidates whilst ensuring pre course evaluation of special needs of candidates, organising course literature to fulfill the client needs, booking hotels and travel for candidates, managing invoices, and preparing and issuing certificates. These tasks are an important role within the company as customers pay for training and therefore expect the best service. I was given the opportunity to offer and develop my customer service skills during this task. Show less
