  Chief Electrician (Discover Deep Seas 5th Generation Dual-Activity Drillship) 2007 – 2016Train and mentor rig electricians. Ensure spares are available and in stock. Ensure all rig electricians are performing work safely in accordance to company policies and proper trade practices. Inform supervisors and department heads of any electrical/safety systems that are currently an issue or may become an issue in the future. Perform electricians duties in addition to a chief’s responsibilities which include but are not limited to maintain, install and troubleshoot all rig electrical equipment from 11kv generators through 110v systems. Systems include 11kv switchgears, 1200v thrusters, GE 752 DC motors, shakers, mud-pumps, cranes and rig floor 480v systems such as NOV top-drives, Iron roughnecks, pipe racking systems and conveyor systems. Assist electronic techs with troubleshooting PLC driven equipment. Conduct general electrician duties such as lighting, galley equipment, elevators and accommodations HVAC units. Show less
