      During my employment at AWI as a lake steward I: educated the public about aquatic invasive species, monitored public use of water bodies, inspected watercraft for invasive species and identified invasive aquatic plants. During my employment at AWI as a Top Water Technician I was part of a team that: monitored lakes within the Adirondacks for invasive species, collected/identified invasive species from infested waters, operated motorized watercraft and utilized G.I.S/G.P.S to show areas of infested water.

      Biological Technician (Plants)

      As an intern for the U.S.F.S I was assigned to the Botany Dept. where we did various things including: field monitoring for rare and native flora post fire, intuitive control surveys for rare and native flora, surveys for (and hand pulled) invasive/noxious weeds. During my time there I also: learned over 30 species of Western United States flora (native, rare, and noxious), input G.I.S data into ArcMap for documentation, created maps in G.I.S, downloaded/uploaded G.P.S points/tracks, collected biological and vegetation specimens and samples (fruit, flower, and leaf samples of Clarkia virgata and Clarkia australis) for laboratory analysis, marked wildlife trees for the timber department of USFS, kept accurate records including work and inventory logs, annual work reports and other written documents, interacted with members of the public through formal and informal speaking situations, hiked/surveyed on steep hazardous slopes, oversaw/led crew in surveys, passed federal background check and passed federal driving exam.
