  The Education & Outreach Officer develops and maintains educational and outreach initiatives that achieve JAZZ.FM91’s mandate and uphold its values. They organize, administer and grow education and outreach programs for JAZZ.FM91. They are accountable for funder retention and relationship development with JAZZ.FM91 and community partnerships. Responsibilities- Establish a clear mandate for educational and community outreach initiatives- Administer existing programs: Jazz4Kids, Jazzology, JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band, Music Therapy, Discover Women in Jazz, scholarships- Recommend and execute improvements to existing and/or new community initiatives. - Create and maintain a calendar of outreach activities.- Research funding prospects and execute applications for foundations, government and other fundraising and granting streams.- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with Outreach initiatives.- Seek out new funders, sponsors for JAZZ.FM91 education and outreach programs.- Steward existing relationships with current sponsors and funders of JAZZ.FM91 Education and Outreach initiatives- Provide updates and scheduled reports for sponsors/funders to further strengthen and steward relationships.- Build and foster relationships with educational institutions and community partners to grow JAZZ.FM91’s programs.- Increase JAZZ.FM91's presence in our communities. - Prepare an annual budget for education and outreach activities.- Bolster the profile of JAZZ.FM91 community programs by collaborating with the Digital Manager, Promotions Manager and Creative Strategist to create and execute a communication strategy across all platforms.- Assist in the organization of special events, including supporter/volunteer events and other fundraising events. - Prepare a case for giving to support Education and Outreach programs and steward supporters who support these programs. - Assist fundraising team during targeted appeals where needed.
