  Collaborated with the Gallup-McKinley County Schools District on the Navajo Native-American reservation on implementing a district-wide model of the reading, comprehension, and math programs developed by Lindamood-Bell® in the classroom, small groups, and in one-on-one settings. Provided extensive levels of professional development and coached approximately sixty staff members, and worked with every classroom grade level K-5 in two different schools in implementing the programs. I also gained experience in teaching classrooms in both reading and mathematics. Subject areas taught in a lesson: phonics, sight words, reading accuracy and fluency, and comprehension. Worked closely with administrators at each school to coordinate weekly coaching meetings and provide updates on teachers' progress in the reading and math programs. Show less Collaborated with the Vista Unified School District (San Diego) on a district-wide implementation model of the company’s reading programs for remediation. The schools in this district are low-income, high-minority schools in need of immediate literacy remediation. As a school services consultant, I managed program implementation during the school year for an elementary, middle school, and two continuation schools, one for 8th graders going into 9th grade and a continuation high school. Throughout the school year, I mentored school teachers doing intensive instruction and classroom teachers incorporating the programs with the school curriculum, training the teachers in our administering and scoring our testing battery. Was involved in certifying classroom teachers to be consultants, which involved refining program skills and writing lesson plans for intensive and classroom implementation. Show less

  Developed academic programs and curriculum for Preschool Academy (PSA) and Leaders International Academy (LIA), two of the school brands under YBM Education. The primary focus of these programs is to provide immersion programs in English to effectively teach various subject areas while simultaneously expanding the student’s English skills. Responsibilities include producing detailed daily lesson plans, developing workbooks related to the content, editing all materials produced by the Research & Development department, researching multimedia content, and providing professional development to teachers at all four branches. The curriculum covers phonics, reading, writing, listening and speaking, oral communication, science, social studies, critical thinking, comprehension, and grammar. Work closely with branch supervisors and principals to present curriculum, receive feedback, and collaborate on providing the most effective curriculum for their students.Professional development duties include making site visits to offer and receive feedback on the curriculum as well as the implementation of the program. The Research and Development team is also responsible for putting together bi-annual professional development workshops for all teachers introducing the new semester’s curriculum, and offering suggestions for implementing the program.
