      The assignment was a German Technical Corporation funded technical assistance that enabled the establishment of the Physical Planning Department at the Makerere University, and a tertiary Institute of Planning located at the Kyambogo College (now Kyambogo University) in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.I served also as adviser to the Uganda Government in the formulation of relevant capacity building programme and curricula in urban and regional development planning, develop training manuals for post-graduate and mid-career level personnel of the Ministry of Lands and Housing and local authorities in Uganda, and carry out training in selected modules, and in the development of the Physical Planning Handbook for Uganda, which formed basis for setting up various Urban Planning Standards in the Country. This was Programme Completion Evaluation Report for the UNEP Governing Council to restructure work in the subsequent phases.

      Development of a participatory local strategic planning model in Botswana, using the Chobe District Settlement Strategy as a pilot. Chobe is a the food basket of Botswana, but the conflict between wildlife conservation, agriculture and human settlements is a reality. The Strategy sought to provide vision on how the conflicts could be addressed to enable sustainable development in the District.
