      Activities and Societies: Unit 1 - An introduction to patient-centred care Unit 2 – The importance of communication Unit 3 – Providing holistic care Unit 4 - Managing time pressures Unit 5 - Self-audit of practice For the month of October, I was enrolled in the University of Derby’s Patient Centred Care Online CPD course. The course was expected to run across 18 hours and upon completion, 5 units were covered. These 5 units included: patient centred care, communication skills, holistic care, time management and a self-audit of practice. I am delighted to have gained the experience and reflected upon my work whilst completing this course.

      As part of my placement requirements, I was allocated Temple Street Childrens Hospital where I performed x-rays, visited ICU to perform imaging and helped my fellow radiographers while under the supervision of a senior radiographer. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and I cannot wait to experience more paediatric experience post-graduation.

      I am currently undertaking my Erasmus clinical placement in Tallaght University Hospital. During my time here, I am also enrolled in a Cardiac Intervention module which involves assignments, examinations and Virtual Reality learning and examination in various areas of Cardiac Interventional Radiology. I am also completing my thesis, with an expected finish date of April 2024, which I hope to publish.I look forward to my time in Tallaght Hospital as I come closer to completing my degree.
