Inputs from and to the intercalated cells of the amygdala, neurons that have been implicated in fear learning, and the specific receptors that are involved in the transmission of those signals. Also, investigation of calcium signalling in those neurons, with electrophysiology and calcium imaging.

    • The University of Queensland

      Nov 2012 - May 2015
      Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Establishment of collaborative work between the Queensland Brain Institute and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Particular interest was given to pain-transmitting connections between the parabrachial nucleus and the central amygdala, where large basket-type synapses are formed. The influence of noradrenaline on the consolidation and modulation of memory, measured as long-term plasticity with electrophysiological techniques, was investigated at this specific connection.

    • Max Planck Institue for Neurobiology

      Jun 2015 - now
      Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Research in the field of Neuroscience, with the main focus in understanding the connectivity and circuitry of central amygdala neuronal subpopulations that are involved in the control of feeding, using electrophysiological techniques.
