I was able to negotiate data-sharing agreements with national advice providers like Citizens Advice and the Legal Services Commission. Together with a team at Minor e.V. I am running a research project about contemporary labour migration into Germany from different European countries. An ageing population in Germany means that German companies of all sizes are looking increasingly to attract labour migrants from Southern and Eastern Europe because they face such severe labour shortages at home. Supported by the Federal Agency for Migration and Refugess and the Senate of Berlin we are conducting a number of different research studies to identify the main integration challenges this group of migrant is facing as well as best-practice methods for supporting the effective social and professional integration of labour migrants in Germany.
