  Developed the strategic training plan to ensure all employees were appropriately trained per their job descriptions and command objectives. Planned and managed the training schedule for all students through the effective supervision of over 120 Navy instructors and course supervisors. Planned and directed the workload distribution for the class advisors to ensure short-term priorities were completed and long-range training requirements were met. Show less I was the lead instructor, and training manager for two officer development courses of instruction at Surface Combat Systems Training Command, San Diego. My core duties included mentorship and to teach newly commissioned Naval Officers how to perform their duties as Communications Officers and Network Security Officers, so they could have successful first tours of duty aboard multi-billion dollar Navy warships. I taught Leadership and Management skills, technical knowledge of complex C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence) systems, Communications Security, Cryptographic materials management, Satellite communications concepts and fundamentals, as well as how to manage Navy shipboard cyber security programs in a perpetually evolving operational environment. Show less I led a division of 20+ sailors, and was responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repairs of over $50M million in vital life saving damage control equipment aboard guided-missile Destroyer USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG-51). Planned and directed all shipboard damage control activities, and directed all actions required to maintain watertight integrity, stability, mobility and maneuverability and control of list, trim and draft. Evaluated potential hazards and any necessary actions to minimize them, placing special emphasis on fire and explosion prevention. I established personnel rescue procedures, directed extinguishment of fires, dewatering operations, and ventilation control for toxic gas, biological, chemical, and nuclear defense environments.
