      Environmental and Sustainability Geography at UBC allowed for an interdisciplinary and diverse approach to understanding the poly crises the world is facing. I was able to focus on both environmental sciences and climate justice related studies. I am well educated on Indigenous rights, environmental risk assessment, environmental justice, political systems, history, climate change, climate and planetary system sciences, oceanography, etc.

      Social Impact & Environmental Sustainability Specialist

      Within the ESG department at Tru Earth, my work has been focused on both environmental and social aspects. In this role, I developed and progressed the organization’s GHG emissions accounting, and developed multi-national Scope 1,2,3 emission reduction strategies for supply chain logistics and overall operations. I developed and facilitated internal workshops on GHG Emissions and Climate Change that were tailored to be relevant to the department. Working with our procurement manager I supported the development of an ESG supplier code of conduct and an ESG supplier questionnaire to ensure internal supply chain transparency. I completed environmental and human health impact research on all products and formulas and supported the product and innovation manager on any other environmental impact research. I developed and ran the employee resource group, the DEIB Champions. This team develops internal initiatives to increase diversity and foster equity, inclusion and belonging within company culture and internal policies and programs. This includes creating and hosting annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation workshops.I built and facilitated the beginning of Tru Earth’s donation program which is now one of their 3 primary KPI’s and is an international program. Primarily focused in outreach, this work brought me into conversation with non-profit organizations across BC and continued to grow across Canada. I created social media content for Tru Earth including environmental impact education. Supported customers online via multiple social media platforms and email.       Young Leaders in Conservation Program Participant

      Developed and hosted a workshop in Burnaby, BC focused on terrestrial conservation and civic participation. The workshop shared the film ‘Salmon Parks’ which educates on the indigenous led project of Salmon Parks and was followed with a discussion on Indigenous led conservation. The event was completed with a practical workshop where participants were taught and given time to write a letter or an email to their local MLA in support of Indigenous led conservation projects in BC.Lobbied with British Columbia government officials at the Legislature Assembly in Victoria, BC in support of Indigenous-led conservation projects.
