      2013 - 2014
Master's degree Mechanical and biomedical Engineering

Activities and Societies: Erasmus Programme Part of the master's project: Quantitative Intravoxel Analysis of microCT-scanned Resorbing Ceramic Biomaterials - Perspectives for computer-aided biomaterial designWas done with an approach which uses the relationship between grey values and X-ray attenuation coefficients, together with the energy-dependence of the latter, as to identify (i) the average energy, (ii) the X-ray attenuation coefficients and (iii) then, via average laws, the intravoxel material composition.

      Jan 2011 - Dec 2012
      Tissue Engineering

Analysis of a new morphological scaffold in vivoA biological scaffold technology which is developed by the Icelandic company Genis ehf was analysed. The company’s goal was to develop an injectable scaffold material with good physical, chemical and biological properties. The responsibility of the project was the microCT imaging and data processing with special software tools VGstudioMax and MIMICS combined with MATLAB statistical computation.

    • Landspitali University Hospital

      Jan 2013 - Aug 2013

The aim of the study was to compare affected and unaffected inner ears of patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo to determine whether morphological differences contribute to lateralization of the disease. The responsibility of the project was the data processing in a software tool MIMICS. Designing and developing a propeller driven perfusion bioreactorThe project was presented at TERMIS EU chapter meeting 2014, Genova, Italy The perfusion bioreactor was designed and developed for cell culture. 3D models of the bioreactor were created in Solid Works and imported to ANSYS 14.0. The fluid flow in the perfusion bioreactor system was simulated. A trial of the bioreactor was performed successfully.
