Project budgets range anywhere from a couple hundred thousand dollars up to fifteen million dollars and require great care in maintaining communications and interactions with multiple departments as well as the Telecommunications engineering and construction teams. Examples of work include security installations at new and existing substations, updating security infrastructure, network integrated transmission service customers (NITS), creating and maintaining network communications between local and remote sites and multiple departments within the company, and deploying smart grid technologies for more reliable and efficient communications and metering applications.   At United Malt I managed projects that were part of the overall demerger of United Malt from the parent company, GrainCorp. Focused projects include the migration of users and infrastructure assets from one Azure platform to another Azure platform with little to no interruption of service. User migrations included the development of process documentation and creation of a wiki to assist the users to prepare for the move and the processes to undertake after the move. Coordination with users was key as users existed in North America, UK, and Australia. We also performed extensive application documentation prior to the migration including the creation of run books and network and application diagrams. The team successfully completed the infrastructure and user migrations despite additional hurdles presented by the COVID-19 quarantine. Show less
