Presented financial business cases and ROI on new capital initiatives and contractual reporting. Successfully won the bid for a three-year Liquor Distribution Branch province-wide beverage container stewardship that increased annual company revenues by $6,800,000. Successfully set up container collection network and managed, through a team of operations and administration staff, the 50 container collection centers. Identified and implemented contract compliance requirements Developed and installed a province wide container Point of Return system - no non-compliance orders were issued by the Liquor Distribution Branch during the contract. Negotiated cost effective and productive third-party contracts with collection, processors, and logistic operators. Identified opportunity, within the Liquor Distribution Branch contract, to establish a Glass Recycling Plant. Prepared and presented successful business case to the Board of Directors. Managed Plant start up, on time and within stringent budget constraints, and provided ongoing leadership. Working with the President, identified a new Equipment Sales and Services Business. Prepared complete business case, including ROI calculations, for Board approval and negotiated the founding contract with a major grocery chain for the installation of $6,200,000 of compactor equipment which generated $1,200,000 in annual rental revenue. Hired by owners and challenged to provide leadership in the turnaround of the company history of declining sales and financial losses. Directed operations of $14M in sales. Provide leadership for a 70–person work force and held full P&L responsibility. Oversaw all operations, finances, business development, sales, marketing, human resources and administration affairs. Contributions include:- Grew revenues 61% by executing a series of business development initiatives that expanded our product lines and opened new sales territories and customer segments.- Re-established financial controls, leading the company from financial losses to strong and sustained profitability of over $1M EBITDA in the last two fiscal periods.- Transformed the company from special credit status to the recognition of one of the largest signage and service providers in Canada. - Introduced process improvements in production and overhead departments to reduce company costs by 20%.- Successfully had the company removed from HSBC special credit and returned to normal branch banking with new negotiated bank covenants. - Initiated and managed the development and implementation of new Management Information Systems to provide management with the accessibility to key company indicators and reporting tools.- Launched a new company division with additional product lines that generated $1M in sales in the first year with annual sales projected to reach $6M in coming years Show less
