  I have focused mainly on international economic relations. I participated in key international events, including the Financing for Development conference in Monterrey, Mexico (2002). I took an active part in the Czech EU Presidency in the area of development cooperation in 2009. I contributed to major transformation of the Czech Foreign Aid and drafted the Bill on Foreign Development Aid subsequently passed by the Czech Parliament in 2010.

  During my first diplomatic posting I served as a national delegate to several OECD bodies, including the OECD Budget Committee and Public Affairs and Communications Committee. My major contribution was in the area of development cooperation as delegate to the OECD Development Assistance Commitee (DAC). Other areas and tasks included trade, regulatory reform, science and information technologies.

  As head of the unit, I was responsible for the coherence of EU external relations (diplomacy, security, development, human rights, trade, energy, migration). This includeed EU enlargement and the neighborhood policy, as well as transatlantic cooperation and EU relations with emerging powers (China, Russia, Japan, India, Brazil). I also served as Deputy Ambassador to the EU Political and Security Committee (COPS) dealing with international security and crisis management.

  As Head of CzechAid, I provided leadership and strategic guidance over the bilateral development cooperation of the Czech Republic. Budget responsibilities (25 million USD annually). Human resource management (30+ staff). Organization of calls for proposals and public tenders. Cooperation with other donors and multilateral institutions. Innovative partnerships with the private sector. Communication and public awareness about sustainable development.

  I deal with global health (World Health Organisation, UNAIDS), human rights (including the Middle East Peace Process), humanitarian affairs (UNHCHR, International Committee of the Red Cross), disarmement (Arms Trade Treaty), international trade (World Economic Forum, UNCTAD, World Trade Organisation). I am also responsible for the Mission's internal management (budget, human resources, media and communication).

  Currently, I am resposible for the strategic coordination of the Czech EU Presidency to be held in 2022. This includes policy coordination, priority-setting, communication and methodological work related to the programme of the Czech Presidency in the area of EU's foreign policy.
