    • Chelsea apps factory

      Aug 2012 - Nov 2014
      Scrummaster | senior project manager

I started my professional Agile journey at Chelsea Apps Factory (CAF). I embodied the roles of both Agile Project Manager and Scrum Master depending on project and client needs. I joined CAF when it was a start-up with 15 people onboard, developing native Enterprise mobile (iOS, Android & BB) and web applications. By the end of my tenure, the company had scaled to ~70 people, and it was tremendous to be part of the company's trials and tribulations during the scaling and growth phase. It was a pleasure to be part of a pool of talented people consisting of strategy, product development, Design, QA, developers, and data science. As a Scrum Master, I boosted team enthusiasm by continuously fostering autonomy, creativity, fun, trust, respect, happiness and a healthy ‘inspect & adapt’ spirit, to help teams to perform at their highest levels. I coached teams on effective decision making and facilitated estimation sessions by articulating requirements with the PO and the team. I successfully delivered multiple E2E projects (£50K - £800K) from discovery, scoping, planning, production, closure, deployment, support and maintenance, ensuring project risks were highlighted along the way. I proactively engaged in engineering (TA/QA) reviews.I bridged the gap with client relations by managing clear expectations of project delivery with transparency, facilitating daily client calls, including weekly client reporting. I provided guidance to clients around best practices on mobile user experience, end-user pilot (UAT) testing, in-App analytics, App distribution and deployment to market. Lastly, I actively participated in product ideation workshops with clients and end users, developed product visions & roadmaps, high-level user journeys based on UCD principles.Key clients: William Hill, Deloitte, BlackBerry, Kantar, Thomson Reuters, Waitrose, NHS, GSK.Technologies: web services, JSON, Objective C, HTML, CSS, SQL, CMS, WordPress, Cucumber, Atlassian, Box, GitHub, Trello. • Monitise create (formerly known as grapple mobile)

      Dec 2014 - Jun 2015
Scrum master | senior project manager

The next phase in my Agile journey was an organic elevation to a medium size company (~150 people) that embodied Agile values and principles, at a larger scale. The environment was creative, nurturing and service oriented. As a Senior PM, I was involved in facilitating proposals in response to RFI’s and RFP’s accompanied by brainstorming and estimation sessions with the Design and Strategy teams using experience maps. I actively took part in UX research methodologies such as A/B testing. At any one time, I lead 3-5 multiple Scrum teams of 5-12 talented people to deliver innovative products with either T&M or fixed budgets, spanning from £250k - £1 million. As a certified ScrumMaster, I mentored and constructively challenged Scrum teams (collated & distributed) to improve their software delivery. By embracing empiricism, relevant adaptations were suggested to make more coherent sprint goals, uphold Scrum framework, meaningful Definitions of Done, improved user story slicing, and efficient retrospectives. In one instance I substituted for another Scrum Master and a remarkable, positive influence with the FIFA team was achieved which resulted in my permanent position within the team. The FIFA client was impressed with the change, particularly the reliability of product increment delivery and offered me a job at FIFA!My other focus within the organisation revolved around team empowerment and self-organisation. I supported teams to become capable of collaboratively removing their own impediments and distractions over time. Additionally, the proximity between team members and end users was improved over time to ensure a faster feedback loop and delivering value at the end of every sprint. Key clients: FIFA, Santander, Atos, National Savings & Insurance, Premium Bond Prize checker, Monitise SDK Vouchers Codes.Technologies exercised: JIRA, Confluence, and AtTask. Show less

    • Brilliant basics

      Jul 2015 - Jan 2017
Scrum master | senior project manager

Joining a creative agency such as Brilliant Basics was exciting. I fitted well within a buzzing group of vivacious people and exemplified project management skills by delivery of large scale E2E technical solutions. I placed a strong emphasis on senior stakeholder management with a firm focus on spend and product quality. With BB's several international offices, I managed talented, globally distributed teams (5-12) to deliver timely high end native and hybrid apps (£150k - £800k).I thoroughly enjoyed participating and facilitated product workshops at BB premises, with potential leads and new clients alongside Design, and Strategy, which covered several days of hard, but fun work. Post such sessions, I boosted scoping sessions and proposals to close deals. As part of delivery, I consistently upheld agile values and principles and utilised both Scrum with Kanban as agile methods to deliver value to clients and end users. I reinforced the value of communication, conflict resolution and relationship building within my teams and focused improvements on project kick-offs and closures, to restore teams’ confidence, recognition and feeling of accomplishment, which was then celebrated and show cased company wide. As a proud user of Atlassian, I introduced teams & clients to the greater benefits of the Atlassian suite company wide to raise the bar on team support & collaboration, and delivery metrics of product development.Key clients: INSEAD, Fahrenheit 212 / Capgemini, BNP Paribas, CBRE. Director | providing delivery expertise, training, facilitation and enabling change services
    • Digitas uk

      Feb 2017 - Aug 2017
      Scrum master | delivery manager

Digitas UK, in partnership with Publicis Sapient are responsible for delivering the Helios Programme, which is a global digital customer engagement platform (website) rolled out across 167 markets, across the Renault-Nissan Alliance. As a Scrum Master, I worked with a Scrum team to release continuous, user-centric enhancements, using Essential SAFe, to the Helios Platform, which included Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and front-end web changes to the platform. My team was one of 15 Scrum teams on the programme. I successfully glued a cross-functional team of 9 developers to deliver consistently, whilst maintaining a close relationship with the Renault PO to respond to changing requirements and market needs. With a fully engaged and cross-functional team, a huge emphasis was placed on design, technical architecture, high quality coding standards, and E2E assurance to adhere to product governance board standards: Apigee, Technical and Security Advisory. Driven by a common mission using Kanban-Lean leadership (infused by the PMO), I worked very hard to ensure we synchronised with the programme's cadence and delivered every 2 weeks, via a polished and slick Agile Release Train. As the client were onsite, stakeholder management was key on this project and by maintaining a close-knit rapport meant they were never more than a few hours behind of significant issues. Resourcing, commercial and formal communication were always maintained by showcasing strong traditional, project co-ordination and management skillset. Gaps were spotted and cracks filled to ensure the highest level of outcome on my project. Show less

    • Shell

      Sept 2017 - Apr 2019
      Scrum master | delivery coaching

I joined Shell when they had started to leverage the power of big data at Advanced Analytics. I was the first Coach to join an intelligent and ever-growing data science team, which operated as a studio within Shell. Their function was to collate desired raw data and turn it into actionable knowledge to solve business problems within Shell.I trained and coached teams on the values and principles of Agile and the need for the radical transparency, psychological safety, mindset and cultural shift. Set out as a journey, it was achieved via a series of conversations, 121 interactions, adoption roadmaps, presentations, and interactive games (remote & F2F). I supported the studio with the transition to delivering solutions using Scrum and/or Kanban methods. I served the needs of distributed development teams, product owners, HR and finance whilst harnessing technical excellence (DevOps, quality, automation). Most critically, I worked with the management to adopt agile leadership principles to support the transformation. The result was a quick and keen uptake of the new ways of working and an improvement in performance of teams' engagement, empowerment, decision making, including self-organisation. I also supported the product owners in their roles by training, coaching and knowledge sharing sessions. The result was clear product visions, roadmaps and improved collaboration with the teams. The most interesting aspect in my involvement at the studio was to ensure the Agile methods incorporated data science work activities.Later on, I became part of a team of Agile coaches to create a pool of our collective genius, knowledge and experiences to serve the organisation better and for continuous improvement.Key projects: Shearwater compressor predictive analytics, Site Planning And Requirements Capture, Recharge Plus (electric vehicle & optimisation), and Geoscience Exploration.
