  Structural Design and Fabrication Teacher
  Currently teaching courses in the Engineering Design and Technology Department. Designed and implemented a new double period, honors level course curriculum in Structural Design and Fabrication that covers carpentry, framing, and construction skills as well as designed the new lab facility the course will be taught in. Students in SDF learned about home design and construction through the building of a two part modular home for Morris Habitat for Humanity. Home was built by students, under the guidance of experts in their individual crafts who served as guest instructors and was constructed in the school parking lot. The home was moved by crane to a final site and placed on a foundation within the Roxbury community and finished for a family to move into in October of 2022. Throughout this process Mr. Caccavale served as project manager coordinating materials, timeline, subcontractors, guest instructors, student curriculum and instruction and more. During the spring and summer of 2022 Mr. Caccavale served as a construction site supervisor for Morris Habitat for Humanity supervising the students and other volunteers to get the home completed.Courses taught include: Structural Design & Fabrication (Honors), Intro to SDF, Intro to Woodworking, and Woodworking Technology (special education course).
