  I work with Dr. Jonathan Schmitkons and other undergraduate peer mentors to help current students in the biogeochemistry stream of Binghamton University's FRI program develop lab, field, and data analysis skills that pertain to their projects. I am a resident assistant in Dickinson Community that coordinates activities between residents and facilitates student success through strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Principal Investigators: Ming An, PhD + Lan Yao, PhDAccepted as an Undergraduate Research Assistant studying bio-organic chemistry and membrane biophysics. Specifically, peptide synthesis and purification for a pHLIP (pH Low Insertion Peptide) effect on the release of free dox in cancerous cells. I am a program ambassador for the Binghamton University FRI program. My responsibilities involve answering prospective students' questions about the program and talking about my experience as a student researcher. Faculty Advisor: Jonathan Schmitkons, PhDI am in the Biogeochemistry stream of the FRI program at Binghamton University. This program helps students develop communication and analytic skills in research in a structured and collaborative environment. Starting January 2022, experience includes 6 hours of lab work and/or field work per week involving collecting and analyzing water samples both in the field and in the lab.
