      Deputy Head of Submarine Engineering Department responsible for strategic management activities, including integrating the departmental programme into the decommissioning programme and in support of the wider submarine enterprise. Accountable for the direction of planning and co-ordination of maintenance and defect rectification of all operational systems. Acted as professional adviser to the Commanding Officer on all engineering and nuclear safety related matters. Delivered the role of Engineering Operations Officer, responsible for delivering marine engineering support to all Devonport based, and visiting, submarines involving liaison with front line operators, logisticians and engineering support organisations along with operational headquarters and primary defence contractors. Lead Engineer Recruiter in the Royal Navy, responsible for attracting highly motivated and technically capable individuals. Planned and delivered the graduate engineer engagement campaign nationwide. Part of the senior engineer leadership and management team tasked with ensuring the correct availability and performance of engineering manpower and systems to support nuclear submarine operations. Led and managed the propulsion (40 personnel) and ships systems (12 personnel) sections through deep maintenance, training, operations and submarine patrols whilst performing duties as a Category A1 Nuclear watch-keeper. Electrical and mechanical section supervisor – Responsible for engineering section maintenance, defect investigation and repair. Basic electrical and mechanical systems maintenance and diagnostics.
