  Constituency Manager

  My mission is to build and bridge communities, and events are the main platform through which this is done. I plan, coordinate, and execute multiple projects and events simultaneously, including Yuan Xiao, Mid-Autumn, and Pets Carnival, with respective turnouts of more than 1500 and with budgets of $30,000 or more. From proposal and analysis to budgeting, sponsorship, procurement, publicity, logistics, facilitating pre- and during event, accounting, and postmortems; inclusive of outreach and engagement with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, members of parliament, companies, NGOs, grassroots leaders, and residents.Other methods to build relations include conducting house visits and helping to resolve local issues, from neighbourly disputes to health and safety issues such as dengue and traffic - even coordinating with grassroot leaders, the MP, and multiple government agencies to improve the daily lives of residents through complex estate upgrading projects costing up to seven figures; and surveying grassroots on national issues to improve government policies. I also support the arts scene through organising concerts with Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra, Chinese Orchestra, Junior Orchestra, Harmonica, and Xposé Guitar Ensemble; Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra is the largest community orchestra in Singapore, and the only one with a dedicated choir. Yellow River Cantata, one of the larger concerts I organised, was conducted by Singapore Chinese Orchestra Music Director Maestro Yeh Tsung, and had a budget and profit of up to five figures. I also prepare and coordinate meetings through agenda setting, recording and writing minutes, and presenting proposals, updates, and reports – both administrative and financial, such as treasurer reports on bank statements and reconciliation.Operationally, I also help to de-escalate conflicts and occasionally cover counter duties, netting two Staff of the Month awards.
