Mechanical Engineering Design - Assisted student design teams in the development of their projects, time and resource management, budgeting, and team conflict resolution.Introduction to Engineering - Familiarized first year students with mechanical measurements, basic machine shop operations, and exposed them to engineering design through robotics.Machines and Society - Introduced non-engineering students to common engineering systems and principles. Direct hands-on lab sessions showcasing the use of mechanical technology in daily life. Show less My research involved the development and testing of a series of custom magnetic fluid-based dampers for use in a medical orthosis for the mechanical suppression of tremor. I collaborated in the design the dampers as well as several testing apparatuses, mathematical models, and control strategies. I have also acted as lead research analyst for a number of consulting projects commissioned through the university. My computational modeling experience includes dynamic mechanisms, heat transfer and thermal expansion physics, structural analysis, acoustics, fluid dynamics, and electromagnetism. Show less
